Wrap-up of 2024 of my @the.storygraph account. No Wrap-up of 2024 of my @the.storygraph account.

Not my best year (also in reading 😭) but I have discovered new (to me) authors like Gospodinov and WYNDHAM.

This year I have also DNF 5 books, which seems a lot. I don’t know if this is because I know better what I like or if I have less and less patience…🙄🤔

20% of the books I read have more than 500 pages, which surprised me as I tend to prefer shorter books.

I didn’t read as many nonfiction books as I would have wanted. There is definitely room for improvement there, as well as with reading BIPOC authors.

35% of the books I read were audiobooks, format which has risen this 2024 a lot for me, as I find reading in the public transport more and more uncomfortable and audiobooks are very convenient.

I did improve in reading more in Spanish, due to audiobooks I am sure. But hey! It is what it is 🙏🏻

Average rating is 3.73 which is a bit low, I think.

What about your statistics? Curious to know…
And the last day came! We saw the International Co And the last day came! We saw the International Court of Justice (impressive!) and as it was finally sunny, we decided to take the tram to visit the beach. We enjoyed it very much. We also finally ate fried fish, the famous Kibbeling, felt sick afterwards 😂😂😂😂 and head back to The Hague.
Next day we travelled back to grey, humid, depressing Hamburg and start thinking about our next destination for next Christmas…maybe a place with a bit for sun and heat…🙄🔫🤞🏻🤔

Then we arrived to The Hague for the final stop in our travel. We quickly re-visit some parts of its old town and went to bed. The days are passing quick and we feel the tiredness coming upon us. 👵🏻👴🏻

I want to show you my latest illustration, Erik the hedgehog! He is ready to trick or treat in the lovely, cozy forest where he lives.

I drew him for October’s prompt “Trick or Treat” of Mimi’s Illustration Club.

I had some problems with the big pumpkin, trying to make it look more “pumped out” and round, but I think in the end I kind of make it look ok…

I somehow managed to post twice in a week? I don’t know myself anymore…😂😂

I’d like to share my latest illustration, which I made for Mimi’s Club. Topic for August is “Bugs & Flowers”.
.
I had so much fun creating this one…After a really long time, I have managed to (more or less) regularly sit down and draw a bit. This year I basically won’t have proper holidays, so I had fun thinking about this little worm enjoying his drink in the sun but, of course, with protection and a good hat!
.
Anyway, I hope you like it. Take care.🙏🏻

.
It´s been a while…lots of things have happened lately and I basically did not feel like drawing nor posting here…Right now, to help myself, I have decided to start posting again somehow regularly.
.
I’d like to share an illustration I made in June for Mimi’s Club. Topic is “Farmyard Friends”.
.
I am constantly learning what I like and what I don’t at illustrating scenes. I love drawing animals and putting them in all kinds of cute and funny situations. Here some animals (and plants) gather together to welcome a newborn duck. Everyone seems a bit confused and I don’t know why. Can you help me guessing why in the comments section?
.
Anyway, I hope you like it.

I have finally had some time to sit down and post something here. I feel like I am always writing the same caption but yet again my physical problems had stopped me from sitting on a chair more than necessary for work, let alone for “pleasure”.
.
Anyhow, here is my illustration for Mimi’s Club for April 2024. Topic is “Fairy Tales”. The illustration for May is already finished and I will hopefully post it later this week. Fingers crossed.
.
I am very pleased with the result. I love the final colours and the two little friends in it. I like it so much that I have printed it on a t-shirt…I definitely see the little improvements in the way I illustrate (I cannot really call it still “style”). Next challenge is drawing people…Hopefully I could slowly start learning it.

Anyway, I hope you like it.
